Mostly this website is about camps I constructed -- my work. I've got some camps by other people, though, and their work is showcased here. So far almost all of them are camps by Roland Fricke.
Since I didn't make these camps, I've got less commentary on construction -- I don't know all the steps to create them.

It looks like the crenelations are made of cardboard cut with pinking shears?

The critical component here is a model from the World Landmarks TOOB pack by Safari Ltd. toys. It also gives you a Great Sphinx of Giza and a Colosseum and some Stonehenge bits that might also be useful for making other camps.

The critical component here is a model from the Around The World TOOB pack by Safari Ltd. toys, cut in half to fit on a base. That TOOB pack also gives you half a dozen other models that might be useful for camps.

All Roads Lead to Rome. Roman roads created the Roman Empire. A very nice little camp. Roland made a whole bunch of these.
Another camp by Roland Fricke. A nice camp for Late Romans or many other cultures.
This one is also Roland Fricke's work.
The woven fence is very clever -- it's just cut strips from a woven mat of some kind (a tatami or similar, maybe a woven food placemat?) with the whole thing soaked in PVA (white glue) in advance to stop the edges from fraying. Looks excellent, keeps its shape, no painting required (natural colors), curve it as you wish.
