Hurricanus
Aquiosia
This MonPoc army was one of the last sets of figures to be released before the production of inexpensive prepainted figures closed down in 2010. So it has some brilliant figures, but not really enough rank-and-file figures to create lower point value units necessary to having an army. As such, this army ends up incomplete.
The spirit of the army is the power of the elements, protecting the Earth from invasion. For that purpose, there are pre-painted D&D plastic figures that can be imported to alleviate the lack of lower-point units in the army. Pre-painted D&D plastics are ubiquitous, and there are thousands available; some work very well for this purpose.
In the army discussion below troop types are described in the format:
Light Foot (Brittle -2): 1 pts each
+3/+2, missile defense +3, move 5 MU
Which means (for this example) that the base troop type to be used in Fantasy Triumph is Light Foot, and they should have the Brittle battle card. Brittle reduces the cost by 2 points. The base cost of Light Foot is 3 pts, so with Brittle each stand costs 1 point. The numbers that follow are the combat factors and movement as specified in Fantasy Triumph (as modified by the battle cards).
Incinerus
Tectomoc
Incinerus is a techno-magical spirit of fire.
The best representation for these kaiju in Fantasy Triumph is:
Knight (Deadly +2, Armored +1/2, Massive +1): 7.5 pts each
+4/+5, missile defense +2 (with Armored), move 5 MU
Hurricanus is a techno-magical spirit of Air.
The best representation for these kaiju in Fantasy Triumph is:
Horsebow (Deadly +2, Armored +1/2, Massive +1, Flying Slow +1): 8.5 pts each
+3/+4, missile defense +2 (with Armored), move 8 MU
Tectomoc is a techno-magical spirit of Earth (the element Earth, not the planet, although that as well)
The best representation for these kaiju in Fantasy Triumph is:
Elite Foot (Deadly +2, Massive +1, Armored +1/2): 7.5 pts each
+6/+4, missile defense +3 (with Armored), move 3 MU
Note that Tectomoc is based on a deeper base (open-order foot base) for stability.
Aquiosia is a techno-magical spirit of Water.
The best representation for these kaiju in Fantasy Triumph is:
Elite Cavalry (Deadly +2, Massive +1, Armored +1/2): 7.5 pts each
+4/+4, missile defense +3 (with Armored), move 6 MU
Powerful and slow, Earth Elementals are a bastion of strength in the Elemental Defenders army.
The best representation for these forces in Fantasy Triumph is:
Elite Foot (Hearten +1, Slow -1/2): 4.5 pts each
+5/+3, missile defense +3, move 2 MU
A different type of aircraft, more of an air superiority type. These figures are harder to get ahold of on ebay, as they are only associated with the Legionnaire kaiju figure in the original random packs as released.
The best representation for these forces in Fantasy Triumph is:
Horsebow (Flying Fast +2, Armored +1/2): 6.5 pts each
+2/+3, missile defense +1 (with Armored), move 12 MU
Mighty spirits of fire with devastating power.
The best representation for these forces in Fantasy Triumph is:
Knight (Slow -1/2, Terrain Affinity (Woods, Village/Urban) +1/2): 4 pts each
+3/+4, missile defense +2, move 4 MU.
Terrain Affinity means it treats woods and village/urban as open terrain for movement and combat.
Water spirits are flexible and adaptive.
The best representation for these forces in Fantasy Triumph is:
Chariot (Slow -1/2, Terrain Affinity (Stream, Swamp) +1/2): 4 pts each
+2/+3, missile defense +3, move 5 MU
Terrain Affinity means it treats swamp and streams as open terrain for movement and combat.
The Elemental Defenders army has few figures available through the original MonPoc release. On the other hand, there are many figures available through prepainted plastic D&D miniatures and other sources, including 3D printing.
Some suggestions for possibilities, depending upon the size and appearance of the miniatures:
Earth spirits:
Heavy Foot (Slow -1/2): 2.5 pts each. Smaller earth elementals.
Horde (no battle card): 2 pts each. Even smaller ones, or Earth Mephits.
Air spirits
Skirmishers (Fast +1/2): 3.5 pts each. Smaller air elementals.
Fire spirits
Warband (no battle card): 3 pts each. Smaller fire elementals.
Water spirits
Bad Horse (Slow -1/2, Terrain Affinity (Stream, Swamp) +1/2): 3 pts each. Smaller water elementals.
