All of my MonsterPocalypse (MonPoc) armies are based on 60mm wide bases (1 MU = 30mm). It is a scale that fits really well with the figures. All the armies are based the same scale so they can fight each other.
MonPoc is a Kaiju (giant monster -- like Godzilla) game released in 2008 to 2010. In its original release it had random packs of prepainted plastic figures, with different rarities. It was re-released a decade or more later with a more standard model of unpainted metal or resin miniatures.
The base scale is something like 6mm -- the buildings and human vehicles are approximately that scale. But the giant monsters (and the giant robots that humanity builds to defend itself from them) are the size of buildings. Buildings were also included in the random packs.
The original MonPoc game is/was a skirmish game -- each model represented a single monster. I've never played it. All my MonPoc armies are built to play Fantasy Triumph.
Fantasy Triumph is a game system created to allow players to design their own armies. What I'm describing here is the "official" MonPoc army lists -- how they are best represented in Fantasy Triumph. According to me. If you want to represent them some other way, more power to you. That's why "official" is in quotes -- there are no official army lists for Fantasy Triumph armies. With that said, the army lists as described herein are a very good representation of each faction, and support competitive games against each other (within the context of fighting other MonPoc armies).
GUARD. Defenders of Earth (Western-style), using Giant Robots and hyper technology.
Martian Menace. Invaders from Mars.
UberCorp International. Defenders of Earth (?) and their corporate profits.
Terrasaur. Giant Terror Lizards want to eat Sheboygan.
Shadow Sun Syndicate. Defenders of Earth (Eastern-style). Very different focus on Giant Robots and hyper technology.
Planet Eaters. A galactic plague, eating every planet they land upon. Their appetite will not be sated.
Mole Men (Subterrans). A whole culture living below the ground, deep in the earth. And they're not happy.
Savage Swarm. Giant bugs from the Amazon (or Congo, or Java, or ...)
Lords of Cthul. Eldritch Horrors beyond comprehension.
Empire of the Apes. Giant Apes using outdated human military technology, repurposed for their enormous anthropoid bodies.
Elemental Defenders. Supernatural defenders of the planet focused on the four elements.
Fantasy Triumph supports troop types that have the ability to leave the battlefield and come back later. This battle card is called Away -- those troops are away from the battle. When developing Fantasy Triumph we initially called the battle card "Up", because troops with Flying can move there, but that wasn't a precise description for troops that leave the battle by tunneling underground, or by phasing into an alternate dimension.
So anyway, it is nice to have a simple way to show what troop stands are temporarily separated from the battle and may rejoin it later.
These cool stands are designed by my friend Rod Cain. They break down for transport. Clear acrylic for the legs, colored acrylic for the tops. Different MonPoc armies have different colored acrylic tops; the one pictured is for the Subterrans and is a dark bronzey color. GUARD has blue, Planet Eaters have orange, Martians have green, and so on.
The position of the Away stand on the map is irrelevant; it shows the set of stands who are Away and nothing else.
